Is Adverting, PR or Event Management Your Calling?

When it comes to making a decision about what to study at university or figuring out which career is right for you, we tend to worry so much that we could give ourselves a brain hemorrhage!

For those not inclined to traditional jobs and such, here are some pointers that could tell you whether or not you should go in for advertising and public relations or Event Management Courses, and if they’re your calling.

The following are some of the qualities that - if you possess - can take you a long way:

1. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Great at expressing yourself to others? Able to form coherent thoughts and put your feelings into words? Social? Extroverted? Love the company of others? Feel most at home when surrounded by people? Got a good grip on language and fluent with your words? Well. If you've answered yes to these questions, then you're clearly able to communicate with others; and that's one of the foremost demands of a career in either advertising and public relations or event management.

2. Creative and Energetic: Are you artsy and creative? Always coming up with novel ideas? Innovation is your mantra for life? Zesty and passionate about whatever you undertake? Got no issues with long hours of work and sleepless nights? Think out of the box? Bursting with energy? Always on your feet? Creativity and high levels of energy are absolutely essential.

3. Time Management and Flexibility: When it comes to managing events, ideating and formalising plans for advertising and PR, the factors are always changing. So if you're able to manage your time and take a challenge head-on, then you’ll be great!

4. Tech Savvy: With the world steadily moving to a more virtual existence, knowing social media and networking like the back of your hand is going to be an invaluable asset!

Throw these qualities into the mix of leadership abilities, organisational skills, and a dynamic personality, and you’re perfect for pursuing advertising, PR and Event Management Courses!
